24/09/2020 : RIGA FC V CELTIC (EUROPA LEAGUE QUALIFYING 3rd ROUND) THURSDAY, 24th SEPTEMBER 2020

European nights are back!
RIGA FC V CELTIC, THURSDAY, 24th SEPTEMBER - KICK-OFF @ 19:00, LIVE IN THE MICHAEL COLLINS
So now European football is back. After a few televised match clashes, we’re confirmed for the Michael Collins.
The squad has been in Latvia for a few days, and almost complete, although big Cris Jullien won’t make it, and Mikey Johnston continues his recovery. Odsonne Edouard is ‘raring to go’ after being rested at the weekend, and Lenny will be looking for full focus against a team who managed to beat FC Copenhagen 1-0 at home last year before losing the away leg.
At least we now have some new goal threat options, including the previously rarely explored option of using set pieces.
Hopefully this will be the start of a few Autumn European nights.
Hail! Hail!

01/08/2020 : CELTIC V HAMILTON (SPFL) SUNDAY, 2nd AUGUST 2020

WE'RE BACK !
So it’s been a while, but proper football is back, and it starts tomorrow. We’re confirmed for the Michael Collins, and look forward to seeing you again.
CELTIC V HAMILTON, SPFL, SUNDAY, 2nd AUGUST - KICK-OFF @ 17:30, LIVE IN THE MICHAEL COLLINS
Anyway, football… The big news for Celtic is that there are no big changes. Fraser Forster has decided to look for other options, so we have Greece international goalkeeper Vasilis Barkas installed as our new number one, and likely to start. Moy Elyounoussi has signed on once more, and we’ve lost fringe players and some fine servants, notably Jonny Hayes, but pre-season has seen some of the younger players state their case for a chance to shine in a series of matches where up to 5 subs may be used.
So what’s happening for us? – we’ll look to have get-together in September, for an AGM and a check on our activities for 2021. We will look to travel to Celtic Park, having had to shelve plans due to COVID-19, and this email will become a weekly update rather than match-by-match, as the games will come thick and fast.
The other aspect is that so I can indicate to the Michael Collins when we’ll be in attendance, and how many will be there, a small request on my part. Please indicate if you will attend the upcoming match. This allows me to reserve appropriate space for the game, which was occasionally an issue when we had very few attending.
Hope we can get the support going for a massive season, and that as many as possible can see the flag unfurl for 9 in a row, as we go for 10.
Hail! Hail!
