01/10/2025 : CELTIC V BRAGA (UEFA EUROPA LEAGUE - LEAGUE STAGE) THURSDAY 2nd OCTOBER 2025
Braga rights...
CELTIC V BRAGA , UEFA EUROPA LEAGE - LEAGUE STAGE, THURSDAY 2nd OCTOBER - KICK-OFF @ 18:45
LIVE IN THE WILD ROVER (see WHERE-page)
Celtic are at home for the next match in the league stage of the Europa League, and welcome Braga. The Portuguese side spent big in the summer, but have failed to gel, and are winless in the last 5 games. Teh signings include Gustaf Lagerbielke, who may only have played 10 times for Brendan Rodgers, but who has started all games for Braga.
No new injuries to report for Celtic, but the elusive goals we haven’t managed to find in much quantity would be a welcome addition on a big European night at Celtic Park.
Hail! Hail!

27/09/2025 : CELTIC V HIBERNIAN (SCOTTISH PREMIERSHIP) SATURDAY 27th SEPTEMBER 2025
It’s pronounced Ian Nacho...
CELTIC V HIBERNIAN , SCOTTISH PREMIERSHIP, SATURDAY 27th SEPTEMBER - KICK-OFF @ 16:00
LIVE IN THE WILD ROVER (see WHERE-page)
We’re now seeing the integration of new signings Iheanacho, Tounekti and Balikwisha to the extent that it’s the first time this author hasn’t checked his spelling. After the midweek draw and midweek impact of two from those three we should expect two of those to start against Hibs, who have been better organised in recent months, but have struggled for a win, conceding one fewer goal than they have scored. With Kieron Bowie up front, they have potential for goals or the creation of them.
Hibs remain, like Celtic, undefeated domestically, and will feel they can compete. Brendan Rodgers will look for better flow from the Bhoys, and for a greater cutting edge.

A night with the Star...
RED STAR BELGRADE V CELTIC , UEFA EUROPA LEAGE - LEAGUE STAGE, WEDNESDAY 24th SEPTEMBER - KICK-OFF @ 21:00
LIVE IN THE WILD ROVER (see WHERE-page)
We’re in Serbia tonight, as the Celts kick off the Europa League campaign with a tough away trip to a team who have lost at home twice in their last 13 Europa League home games, and are utterly dominant in their domestic league.
Changes will possibly be the match return of Anthony Ralston and Daizen Maeda, with Marko Arnautovic the big name for Red Star, and plenty of young prolific attackers, and a raucous atmosphere expected.

Firhill for thrills...
PARTICK THISTLE V CELTIC , SCOTTISH LEAGUE QUARTER FINALS, SUNDAY 21th SEPTEMBER - KICK-OFF @ 16:30
LIVE IN THE WILD ROVER (see WHERE-page)
Back on league cup action this afternoon, and a few changes expected in the Glasgow derby. Sinisalo and Dane Murray may be given another outing, while Colby Donovan should start again at right back.
For info, the Brussels CSC is part of the Celtic Fans Collective representative body. The new group - led by a steering group including fan media, supporter groups and active support groups - has been started to hold the Parkhead club to account. Please get in touch if you have any queries.

14/09/2025 : KILMARNOCK V CELTIC (SCOTTISH PREMIERSHIP) SUNDAY 14th SEPTEMBER 2025
Game in Ayrshire, Board inertia...
KILMARNOCK V CELTIC, SCOTTISH PREMIERSHIP, SUNDAY 14th SEPTEMBER - KICK-OFF @ 16:00
LIVE IN THE WILD ROVER (see WHERE-page)
Today’s game will see a protest, endorsed by the Brussels CSC, where fans will arrive late, although not as late as the Celtic board left it to sign replacements at the end of the transfer window. We’ll see if new signings Kelechi Iheanacho, Sebastian Tounekti, Michel-Ange Balikwisha can form a new frontline, and quickly. We’re short of options at right back, with Ralston and Johnston likely to miss out, so Colby Donovan will likely step in, and similarly Marcelo Saracchi may have to deputise for Tierney. Auston Trusty also misses out.
Kilmarnock have drawn their last four games, putting them two places in the league above our last opponents, and we’re back on plastic at Rugby Park.
It’s acceptable to turn up on time today in the Wild Rover.

31/08/2025 : RANGERS V CELTIC (SCOTTISH PREMIERSHIP) SUNDAY 31st AUGUST 2025
We must return to Mordor...
RANGERS V CELTIC , SCOTTISH PREMIERSHIP, SUNDAY 31th AUGUST - KICK-OFF @ 13:00
LIVE IN THE WILD ROVER (see WHERE-page)
Labelled ‘Battle of the Infirm’ in some quarters, today’s intriguing matchup between Celtic and the latest group of journeymen to labour under the mantle of Rangers will be most interesting in the consequences of the outcome. It could already be manager Russell Martin’s final match, although he has been given licence to spend, notably Bojan Miovski, sometime linked with Celtic, who may start today.
Celtic’s spending has come late in the window, too late for the Champions League, but Michel-Ange Balikwisha and Marcelo Saracchi should join the squad, and maybe for the former, the team. More may be on the way, and it may or may not be a farewell match for Adam Idah, depending on other movements. Denmark striker, Kasper Dolberg, and Tunisia winger Sebastian Tounekti continue to be linked wit conflicting reports.
Both teams will look for a performance, and a result, and the Rangers are likely to reinstate Tavernier for a reunion with Maeda, while Raskin will sit this out, as he is anxious to leave. We go again.

27/08/2025 : KAIRAT V CELTIC (CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PLAYOFF) TUESDAY 26th AUGUST 2025
Round Two...
KAIRAT V CELTIC, CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PLAYOFF, TUESDAY 26th AUGUST - KICK-OFF @ 18:45
LIVE IN THE WILD ROVER (see WHERE-page)
Back to the Wild Rover again, for the second of the two legs of the playoffs for the Champions League, with no goals in the tie.
We’ve made the 3,737 mile voyage to Kazakhstan, where Kairat will look to defend, counter, fall, pretend to be injured and essentially do all they can for the promised land of the Champions League.
Celtic will have to do better than their toothless display in Glasgow to progress, and to have some ideas of how to get more creativity and be aware of Kairat disrupting the flow of the match. We look to march on!

20/08/2025 : CELTIC V KAIRAT (CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PLAYOFF) WEDNESDAY 20th AUGUST 2025
Back in Europe (via non-EU Scotland and Kazhakstan)...
CELTIC V KAIRAT, CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PLAYOFF, WEDNESDAY 20th AUGUST - KICK-OFF @ 21:00
LIVE IN THE WILD ROVER (see WHERE-page)
Back to the Wild Rover again, as we’re back on European nights, for the first of two legs of the playoffs for the Champions League, so named as all English sides qualify.
We’re visited tonight by Kazhak side Kairat, who we will not take lightly as they are only a few weeks before the end of their season, with some talent in their ranks, and the Celtic board ‘bhoyed’ by results elsewhere meaning the biscuit tin crowbar waits until the cash prize has bee attained, seemingly.
Nevertheless, the Bhoys will be professional, we hope, in their approach to this game, with only long-term absentee Jota missing, and some wins with a little style underway through the league. A sunny evening in Glasgow, hopefully ended with some daylight to give us a clear path in Europe.
Hail! Hail!

15/08/2025 : CELTIC V FALKIRK (SCOTTISH LEAGUE CUP, 2nd ROUND) FRIDAY 15th AUGUST 2025
Name on the trophy, again?...
CELTIC V FALKIRK, SCOTTISH LEAGUE CUP, 2nd ROUND, FRIDAY 15th AUGUST - KICK-OFF @ 20:45
LIVE IN THE WILD GEESE (see WHERE-page)
We’re back in the Wilde Geese before our return to the Wild Rover, as the Friday night sports night (also featuring Liverpool v Bournemouth) kicks off at 20:00 with the English match, then Celti in the League Cup at 20:45.
The Bhoys have no injury news, but some squad rotation can be expected and maybe time to blood Inamura and Jahmai Simpson-Pusey, and game time for other regulars. Falkirk have few points in their return to the Premiership, and few big names, although Arfield is well known and they have been tipped for top six potential in the league.
We’ll look to march on a retain the first trophy we won last year.

Return to the place of dung...
ABERDEEN V CELTIC, SCOTTISH PREMIERSHIP, SUNDAY 10th AUGUST - KICK-OFF @ 13:30
LIVE IN THE WILD ROVER (see WHERE-page)
We don’t mean the Wild Rover, but to Pittodrie (literally, the ‘place of dung’) for today’s match, where Celtic travel to meet the ‘winners’ of the Scottish Cup. A robust affair is expected, and few changes in the lineup, with only Jota still out through long term injury. Johny Kenny and Yamada will both be hoping to feature after the former signed a long term contract and the latter still waits for his debut.
A few changes in the Aberdeen lineup, but Brendan Rodgers will hope for a less meek display than the cup final.
We should be back in the Rover today, but if not it will be screened in the Wild Geese next door.

Flag Day!
CELTIC V ST MIRREN , SCOTTISH PREMIERSHIP, SUNDAY 3rd AUGUST - KICK-OFF @ 17:30
LIVE IN THE WILD GEESE (see WHERE-page)
The maestro, Paul McStay, returns to Celtic Park where the champions resume domestic league duties and we unfurl the 2024/2025 League flag. We start the league campaign for 2025 – 2026 with some new faces. Kuhn’s gone to Como and Greg Taylor to PAOK, but Keiran Tierney has come home, and we have a few new and even returning players joining the squad today. More signings are on the horizon, but Nygren and Yamada may make the team at some point, while other projects such as Osmand and Inamura may have to bide their time.
The buddies finished in the top six last campaign, and held the Bhoys to a draw in May at Celtic Park. They’ll have similar aspirations this season, but have lost a few starters. We’ll look to start strong and fast, and take our place back at the top of the league as quickly as possible.
Some of the CSC attending the opening match in person, but we’ll be watching in THE WILD GEESE as the Wild Rover will fully reopen once the sporting calendar gets fully up and running. We’ll also be linking up with the Paris CSC at the end of August, where we’ll head to the City of Light to watch the Glasgow derby together on August 31st. Let me know if you want to join.
